Regional CEDS
The Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) is a document and a regional planning process focusing on economic development. The CEDS document is a five-year strategic plan for regional economic development that is supplemented with an annual evaluation and update. The 5-year update of the CEDS was submitted to the US Department of Commerce Economic Development Administration (EDA) for review and was certified with highest honors by EDA in the summer of 2009. With CEDS certification, regional priority projects, technical assistance projects to towns by the Cape Cod Commission, and town capital projects that were included in the CEDS are eligible for EDA funding assistance. EDA funding falls into three general categories: capital infrastructure/public works, planning, and technical assistance projects related to economic development.
